Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) has launched a new recruitment drive for teaching posts in District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) under the School Education Department. Issued vide Notification No. 04/G/SE/2026, dated 18/06/2026, this drive opens 86 posts spread across Senior Lecturer and Lecturer cadres in 19 different subject categories. Online applications will start on 24th June 2026 and close on 29th July 2026 at 5:00 PM, written examination will be tentatively scheduled in November 2026.

The 86 vacancies are distributed across 19 post codes, with subjects ranging from Education and English to Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Urdu, Arts Education and Physical Education. Each post is classified under Multi-Zone-I and Multi-Zone-II based on the local cadre system of Telangana.
Comment: As clarified in the notification, incomplete or non-joining vacancies will be carried forward to the next recruitment cycle, and any addition or deletion of vacancies will be communicated through an official addendum before the examination or before the final selection list respectively.

Age is calculated as follows 01/07/2026. This is one of the more candidate-friendly aspects of this notification, as the upper age limit has been revised substantially.
Important Update: As per GO Ms. No. 86, General Administration (SER.A) Department, dated 18/05/2026, the upper age limit for this post was increased from 34 years to 44 years – an increase of 10 years – significantly increasing the eligible candidate pool.
No candidate is eligible if he/she has crossed the superannuation age of 61 years even after availing relaxation.
The fee structure has two distinct components – an application processing fee and an examination fee – and both must be paid online through the payment gateway.
Comment: Any type of Government/PSU/Corporation employees irrespective of category have to pay the examination fee. Once paid, the fee is non-refundable and non-adjustable under any circumstances.

If SC/ST candidates do not fulfill the prescribed qualifying marks, they may still be considered on the basis of their relative performance, irrespective of the minimum marks.
