How to Prepare for MDL Trade Apprentice Exam 2026

  • First identify your exact business group (A, B1, B2 or C), as each group has different subject combinations and difficulty levels.
  • For Group A and Group C candidates, revise SSC/8th class level Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from your Maharashtra State Board textbooks instead of higher-level material.
  • For Group B1 and B2 candidates, focus on Trade Theory, Workshop Calculations and Science and Engineering Drawing courses of your specific ITI trade as these carry 75 marks out of 100.
  • Since there is no negative marking, attempt all 100 questions within the limit of 120 minutes instead of leaving any unanswered.
  • Practice with a timer to increase speed, as you have about 1.2 minutes per question on average.
  • Read the question paper in whichever of the three languages (Marathi, Hindi, English) you are most comfortable with, but keep the English version in mind to clear any doubts.
