eligibility criteria
- Ability: Degree in Engineering, Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent qualification notified in the Official Gazette by the State Government. Regular MBBS degree will be considered under Medicine.
- Essential Qualifications: Degree in any branch of Engineering, Technology or Medicine.
- Experience: Two years' practical experience in Engineering, Technology or Medicine in a reputed firm or Government Department. For degree holders from recognized universities, practical training up to a maximum of one year during the university course will count towards the required practical experience.

- Unreserved (Male) – 37 years
- Backward Class/Most Backward Class (Male and Female) and Unreserved (Female) – 40 years
- Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (Male and Female) – 42 years
- Candidates eligible between 01.08.2018 to 01.08.2025 based on the above age limit are also eligible provided they fulfill other qualifications and have not retired during the appointment process.
- Regularly appointed government servants of Bihar Government get relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit for competitive examinations, but restricted to a maximum of 5 chances after 12.12.2022.
- Ex-servicemen get 3 years plus period of defense service provided actual age does not exceed 57 years on the date of application.

- Rs.100/- for all candidates. Additional bank charges, as applicable. If Aadhaar number is not entered as identity proof, additional Rs 200/- will be charged for biometric fee.

- On the basis of interview and educational qualification.
- If the number of candidates is more then five times the number of vacancies will be called for interview after shortlisting on the basis of average percentage from Matriculation to minimum essential qualification.
- Interview: 100 marks, Educational Qualification: 100 marks (Matric 10, Intermediate/+2 20, Graduation 60, Post Graduation 10).
- Diploma is considered equivalent to Intermediate for marks.
- Distribution of marks based on percentage multiplied by allotted marks.
- If not specified then CGPA/grade is converted into percentage as per Board/University rules or AICTE.
- Merit list based on total marks; Ties were resolved by age, then in alphabetical order in the Devanagari script.
- After the interview, physical fitness will be examined by the Medical Board.
General information/instructions
- Government servants should forward the application through proper authority, but they are not eligible.
- Must have knowledge of reading and writing Hindi in Devanagari script.
- Reputable firms are defined as Public Sector Undertakings/Government factories or private factories with 500+ workers, registered with EPFO & ESIC, turnover of Rs.25 crore+.
- Experience certificate from the factory owner along with factory license.
- For private factories, the certificate must mention more than 500 workers.
- Candidates must be healthy, well built, active, free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the performance of duties.
- Medical examination by the Board of Commission after interview, fee 16/- cash.
- The benefit of reservation is claimed in online form only for permanent residents of Bihar.
- Certificate required for Scheduled Caste: Caste, Permanent Residence.
- For BC/EBC: Non-creamy layer from Revenue Officer/Circle Officer.
- Married woman certificate in father's name and address.
- For EWS: Income and Asset Certificate as per notification, valid for one year.
- 35% horizontal reservation for female residents of Bihar.
- No change in reservation category after online application.
- All certificates issued till last date 02.02.2026.
- List of documents for verification: Matriculation certificate/marks, Inter certificate/marks, Degree marks/certificate, PG marks/certificate, Experience certificate, Factory license, CGPA conversion formula, Character certificate, Applicable creamy layer/caste/residence certificate, EWS certificate, Age relaxation certificate, NOC for employed, ID proof, photograph, hard copy of application.
- Conditional permission, a chance for correction if the document is incomplete.
- For biometrics, if there is no Aadhaar, the fee is Rs 100/- + bank charges, +200/-.
- One Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory at https://bpsconline.bihar.gov.in.

- There will be no change in name, date of birth etc. after OTR.
- Use DigiLocker for documents.
- No multiple OTR.
- Previous OTR users will have to re-enter the new portal.
- Lock profile after creation.

- Cancel application in case of error, no refund of fees.
- Use active email/mobile.
- Live photo, signature upload via webcam.

- The hard copy of the application should contain the application number, ID, barcode.

- Download and print the hard copy of the application.
