Nationality/Citizenship: The candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee settled before 01 January 1962, or a person of Indian origin coming from the specified countries with the intention of permanent residence.
Fee can be paid online through UPI, Internet Banking or RuPay Debit/Credit Card. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Applications without fee will be summarily rejected.
Stage 1 – Written Test (OMR Based): 200 Marks (Common for both Clerk and Steno-Typist posts; No negative marking; Medium: English)
Paper 1 – Morning Session (10:00 am to 12:00 noon): 100 marks
Paper 2 – Evening Session (2:00 PM to 4:00 PM): 100 Marks
Minimum qualifying marks: 40% in each paper (i.e., 40 out of 100).
Stage 2 – Typing/Proficiency Test (Aptitude only – No marks/weightage)
The final selection will be completely based on the written examination marks. No interview will be conducted.
Stage 1 – Written Examination (OMR Based): Candidates qualifying with minimum 40% marks in each paper will be shortlisted for typing/proficiency test in the ratio of 1:20 (20 times the number of vacancies).
Stage 2 – Typing Test/Proficiency Test (Qualification): Shortlisted candidates will appear for Typing Test (for Clerks) or Stenography Test (for Steno-typists). This stage is qualifying only and carries no points.
Step 3 – Final Merit List: Prepared on the basis of written examination marks of the candidates who have qualified the typing/proficiency test. A waiting list will also be maintained.
Step 4 – Document Verification: Held after the declaration of final results. Candidates must bring all originals and photocopies of educational qualification documents, category certificates and other required documents.
Tie-breaking: In case of equal qualification, the candidate with older age will be given a higher rank. If the age is also same, then the candidate with higher percentage in graduation degree will be ranked higher.
Selected candidates will be appointed under Common Cadre and will be liable for transfer to any department of Chandigarh Administration.

Step 7 - Pay the application fee online (UPI/Internet Banking/RuPay Debit or Credit Card) before 29th April 2026 (11:59 PM).
Step 8 - Preview the application to check all the details, submit using the “Submit” button, and retain a copy for future reference. No corrections will be allowed after submission.
