Commissioner of Medical Education, Research and AYUSH, Maharashtra has officially released Notice No. DMER_05_2026/Tutors & JR Recruitment//CETIT dated 06/05/2026 for online application and online allotment of Tutor/Junior Resident posts in Government Medical Colleges. The notification contains complete details on vacancies, eligibility, selection process, reservation criteria, fees and application instructions. This recruitment is governed by Government Resolution No. MEDD-12/27/2024-MMD (VAIS-2) E-806186 dated 14 October 2025. A total of 935 vacancies have been announced for Tutor (650 posts) and Junior Resident (285 posts) in government medical colleges. The vacancies are distributed across social reservation categories with horizontal reservation for women (30%), ex-servicemen (15%), sports (5%), project affected (5%), earthquake affected (2%), part-time graduates (10%), PWD (4%), and orphans (1%) within each category. Vacancy status is subject to change at any time.
Post 01: Tutor – Total Posts: 650 | Salary: Rs. 80,000/- per month (fix pay)
Post 02: Junior Resident – Total Posts: 285 | Salary: Rs. 79,173/- per month (fix pay)

Candidates must fulfill all the eligibility conditions before applying. The minimum required qualification as per NMC rules is MBBS degree from a recognized medical college. All candidates must have valid Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) registration. As per NMC Gazette dated 30.05.2025 the age limit is up to 70 years. Educational qualification should be from a government or government recognized institution. Candidates must ensure that they fulfill all the prescribed eligibility criteria before paying the non-refundable processing fee.

As per NMC Gazette dated 30.05.2025 the upper age limit for Tutor/Junior Resident posts is up to 70 years. There is no minimum age specified except for MBBS eligibility. Age relaxation for reserved categories is as per Maharashtra Government rules.
Candidates applying for Tutor/Junior Resident posts are required to pay non-refundable online processing fee. Fee payment is applicable only on online preferences filling stage (20-21 May 2026) and not on preliminary application stage. Fees should be paid online through DMER portal only – Fees deposited in any other mode will not be considered. Additional bank charges as per the rules of the concerned bank will be payable in addition to the processing fee. Commissioner, Medical Education, Research and AYUSH will not be responsible for technical difficulties during online fee payment.
The selection process for DMER Maharashtra Tutor/Junior Resident Recruitment 2026 is completely merit based and online. There is no written examination. All eligible candidates are ranked strictly on the basis of merit based on MBBS marks (converted into percentage) in 1st, 2nd and 3rd MBBS (Part I and II). Based on the published merit list, candidates fill the preferences online and pay the fee. Allotment letters are then generated and sent via email/SMS. Candidates have to join within 7 days of allotment. The posting order is valid for one year only.
