Professor (Epidemiology) - Medicine
- Necessary: Medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule must also satisfy the conditions laid down in Section 13(3) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- MD (CHA) / MD (PSM) / MD (Community Medicine) / DNB (SPM) recognized by NMC (erstwhile MCI).
- Minimum eight years of post PG teaching experience as faculty in a permitted/approved/recognised medical college/institution, including three years' experience as Associate Professor in the subject.
- Must have at least four research publications (at least two as Associate Professor) [only original papers, meta-analysis, systematic reviews, and case series that are published in journals indexed in Medline, PubMed, Central Science Citation Index, Science Citation Index, Expanded Embase, Scopus, Directory of Open Access Journals (DoAJ) will be considered.
- Should have completed the Basic course in Medical Education Technology from Institution(s) designated by NMC (Erstwhile MCI).
- Should have completed the Basic course in biomedical research from Institution(s) designated by NMC (Erstwhile MCI).
- Desirable: Three years’ administrative experience in a responsible position. Experience of working in the field of health and family welfare. Experience in conducting epidemiological studies / surveys.
Reader (Community Health Administration)
- Essential: Medical qualification included in the first or the second schedule or part II of the third schedule (other than licentiate qualification) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfil the condition stipulated in section 13(3) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Post-graduate degree such as MD(CHA)/MD(PSM)/MD (Community Medicine) or equivalent degree of a recognised university/Institute.
- Five years’ experience as Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the subject concerned in a Medical College/recognised Institute.
- Evidence of published work of high quality during last 5 years.
- Desirable: One year administrative experience in a responsible position.
Salary / Stipend
- Professor (Epidemiology) [Medical]: Academic Pay Level – 14 (Rs. 1,44,200/- to Rs. 2,18,200/- + NPA)
- Reader (Community Health Administration): Academic Pay Level-12 (Rs. 79,800/- – Rs. 2,11,500/-)

- Up to 50 years (relaxation up to 5 years for government employees and employees of autonomous institutions under the Government)
