Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) examination, or CAPF (AC) examination every year for recruitment of Assistant Commandants for BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP and SSB. The e-admit card for this examination is released online only through the official portal of UPSC, there is no postal or emailed hard copy of it.

As per the official notification, UPSC has tentatively announced a total of 349 Assistant Commandant vacancies in five Central Armed Police Forces. The exact force-wise figures may vary slightly between reports, so candidates should refer to the official notification PDF on upsc.gov.in for the final, force-wise breakup instead of relying on secondary estimates.

selection process
The UPSC CAPF (AC) selection process consists of multiple stages, and candidates must clear each stage to proceed to the next stage:
- written examination – Paper I (Objective) and Paper II (Descriptive), held on the same day
- Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- medical standard test
- Interview/Personality Test

Paper II is evaluated only for those candidates who score minimum qualifying marks in Paper I, as specified by UPSC for this exam pattern.
Required Documents
- Printed copy of e-admit card
- A valid original government-issued photo ID (such as Aadhaar, PAN card, Voter ID card, or driving license)
- Passport size photograph matching the photograph uploaded during application
Note: UPSC releases e-admit card online, no admit card is sent by post or email.
How to Download UPSC CAPF AC e-Admit Card
- Visit the official website of UPSC, upsc.gov.inOr on e-admit card portal upsconline.gov.in.
- On the home page, look under “What's New” for “e-Admit Card: Central Armed Police Forces (AC) Examination, 2026”.
- Click the link and read the on-screen instructions, then select "Yes" to proceed.
- Choose to login “By Registration ID” or “By Roll Number”.
- Enter your Registration ID or Roll Number along with your Password/Date of Birth and Security Code.
- Click on “Submit” to view your admit card.
- Download the admit card and take at least two printouts.
- Check your name, roll number, exam centre, date and reporting time carefully for errors.
Important instructions for exam day
- Reach the examination center before the reporting time printed on the admit card.
- Carry the printed admit card along with a valid original photo ID to each stage of the selection process.
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators and other electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the examination hall.
- Use only black ballpoint pen for OMR-based answers as per UPSC instructions.
- Follow all instructions given by supervisors and cooperate with search/verification procedures.
- If you notice any discrepancy on your admit card such as wrong name, photo, or exam centre, immediately contact UPSC through the contact details printed on the admit card; Don't wait until exam day.
- Keep the admit card safe even after the written examination as it is required again in PST/PET, Medical Test and Interview stages.
